The Adrian Hood Duo are an acoustic Geelong based duo consisting of two of Geelong finest and most experienced musicians.
This duo pride themselves on being able to play a variety of different genres and musical styles. Some songs performed are written by The Beatles, INXS, Daryl Braithwaite, Prince, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Justin Timberlake, Oasis, John Legend and many more, in a diverse and continually growing repertoire of over 100 carefully chosen songs.
Adrian Hood Duo excels at playing weddings and large functions as well as small parties or other events. The band provide all audio and lighting equipment at no extra cost as well as background music playlists during any occasion.
Every booking also offers a full DJ service run by Adrian, if required, to suit your needs. This service is particularly good for weddings where a 6 hour entertainment time slot is filled with three acoustic sets and a DJ service to round off a night of fun. For shorter time slots such as a 4 hour wedding reception or function, acoustic sets are the perfect option.
The duo are very personable, approachable and professional and will ensure that the entertainment provided for your event is first class. With intricate musicianship and soaring vocal melodies, this duo will turn heads at any gig.
The Mac Duo plays at some of Melbourne's best restaurants & bars - some of their top favs being Republica & Captain Baxter (St Kilda Venues), The Smith, Corte, The Prahran Hotel & their sister venues The Richmond Club Hotel & The Bridge. Along with their growing public following The Mac Project also perform at some of Melb's top corporate events such as the Australian Open & Spring Racing as well as many other private functions both locally and interstate. The Mac Project work as an acoustic duo/trio to a 4-piece band and up.
Led by MaryAnne this team boasts an impressive list of credits in their young careers. MaryAnne is a graduate from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art - NIDA in the Acting stream with a successful career both in Australia and OS. She has been nominated for some of the country’s top Theatre & Writing Awards. Mikey Chan has been known as one of the country’s top funk guitarists for a number of years & has recorded with artists such as Kimbra, Roosts & M-Phazes on their award-winning album. He is also signed as a songwriter with Mushroom.
Both accomplished solo artists in their own right Matt & Marcus decided to join forces in 2013 due to their shared love of acoustic music.
Matt has been performing in various bands, duos and as a solo artist around Country Victoria, Melbourne and the surf coast for the past 10 years and is better known as the front man for the successful local cover band Test Pilot Molly. For the last 5 years Matt has played on average 300 gigs per year and brings a wealth of experience to any performance.
Marcus started out performing in cover bands around Victoria back in the '90's. Performing with 9 piece soul group 'Wye's Guys' and 4 piece rock outfit 'Dr. Strange'. He then spent several years performing with an original folk-rock group called Sons of Korah travelling interstate and appearing at several music festivals. Marcus also supported grammy nominee Paul Colman in 2000 for a few shows. Recently Marcus has been redefining his song writing style and also returned to performing acoustic covers as a duo and solo at various venues around Ballarat, Geelong and Melbourne including Wesley Anne, Society Bar, The Edge Bar, Tannin Lounge, Beav's Bar plus multiple functions and even quite a bit of busking which I've found strangely rewarding.
